Exciting new social action programme coming to Yorkshire!

First Give is excited to announce that they will be working in 20 schools within the next academic year

The schools are in West Yorkshire and range between Mytholmroyd, Bradford, and Leeds. This innovative programme has already had proven success in London and Wales, and in the past year alone donated £170,000 to local charities.

How does it work?

The programme is delivered to an entire year group at each school. The students: research social issues; partner with a local charity; carry out social action and present the results at a school final. The winning class (judged on their presentation skills and social action) win a whopping £1,000 for their local charity!!

What does this mean for charities in Yorkshire?

Students from local schools could be contacting you to learn more about your work and carry out some social action on your behalf. The students may ask you to come into school to talk to them for 20 minutes. Off the back of that conversation, they will plan and carry out social action (awareness raising, fundraising, or a combination of the two), and will be endeavouring to win £1,000 for you at the school final.

Best of luck to all local charities who are chosen by the schools, we can’t wait to see what the students do on your behalf!
