Red Ladder Theatre - Glory - Free Workshops
11 March 2019
Red Ladder are offering free workshops as part of a Building a Stronger Britain Together funded project, alongside their tour of Glory
Red Ladder Theatre Company, in partnership with The Dukes Theatre Lancaster and Tamasha Theatre Co are touring a new comedy set in the raucous world of the sport of wrestling. GLORY can best be described by this sentence from the recent 4 star review from The Yorkshire Post:
“It’s a play that is also about racism and social injustice, about trying to heal past wounds, about wanting to find a place to belong, about following your dream, about storytelling, about male friendship and father figures."
Free Workshops for schools, colleges, organisations and businesses
GLORY is a state of the nation play which raises many important questions about British society today. Alongside the tour of the show Red Ladder are offering spoken word workshops and discussions funded by the Home Office’s Building a Stronger Britain Together project. These workshops open up creative conversations about identity, belonging and safety in our country at a time when we are facing many challenges and divisions. The workshops can be held
prior to watching a performance of the play or completely
separate to the show. They are designed
to build tolerance and harmony and explore the nature of prejudice, Britishness and community. Groups can feel safe to enjoy a fun workshop which opens up
important issues and stimulates conversations.
