Don't Bin Food Waste, Compost It!

Home composting is a great way to reduce food waste and to do your bit for climate change. Leeds Rotters have tips on you can get involved during Compost Awareness Week!

Compost Awareness Week runs from 5-11 May, so what better time to get involved!

Leeds Rotters is a group of 'composting champions' keen to get people in Leeds composting their food and garden waste. Composting food waste is an excellent way to enrich and improve soil health and reducing the need to buy compost and fertilisers. Food waste is also one of the largest contributors of greenhouse emissions, so composting your home food waste is a simple yet effective way to do your bit for climate change.

Leeds Rotters have a website and Facebook page to share advice and tips on best composting practice. They are starting a community-level composting project in Horsforth with the aim of rolling it out to other areas once local 'composting champions' have been identified. Could that be you?
