TSL is the forum in Leeds that promotes, represents and advocates for not-for-profit groups and organisations.
TSL is the forum in Leeds that promotes, represents and advocates for not-for-profit groups and organisations (known as the ‘Third Sector’) in Leeds.
We seek to provide a clear voice for the third sector in order to: ·
- influence decisions that affect the communities the third sector works with
- ensure that as many third sector organisations as possible, particularly the smaller ones, are involved in discussions on city-wide challenges and solutions
- ensure third sector organisations can access information and support to help them play their part in changing Leeds for the better.
What sort of work does TSL do?
It’s an exciting time for TSL with lots going on; our current work
Ø action to influence commissioning policy
Ø helping to ensure that third sector organisations are ready to respond to Brexit
Ø delivering events that will help smaller organisations to be more effective
Ø examining the impact of the roll out of Universal Credit
Ø supporting activity that reduces financial exclusion and child poverty.
We have recently reviewed our terms of reference and are seeking to recruit third sector leaders to a number of voluntary positions onto our Leadership Group (the body that sets our direction).
If you have recent experience in one of the fields listed below and are involved in the third sector in Leeds we’d love to hear from you.
You’ll need to give around 2.5 hours every two months (normally a Tuesday afternoon) and spend around 1 hour offering comments on discussions between meetings.
When you give your time to TSL your views and experience will help to influence decisions that are made in Leeds and you will help to ensure that our work truly reflects the views of third sector organisations.
You will be a key player in helping us to take the next step in our development and directing our work towards the most important issues for the third sector and for organisations. We have positions available for people with experience in the following areas: ·
Arts and Culture
Small Groups (turnover less than £20,000 per year)
Infrastructure (providing advice and support to other third sector organisations)
What do I need to do to apply?
When you decide to approach us for one of these positions we’ll invite you for an informal chat about how your experience and values fit with ours. If there is more than one person interested for your position we’ll also use this discussion as the way we decide who we’ll appoint to the position.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for an expression of interest form.
