Voluntary Action Leeds (VAL) and five other organisations across West Yorkshire and York have been selected to support the roll-out of new national resources and guidance on safeguarding.
A new package of resources are now available on the NCVO website here, to help organisations more effectively implement safeguarding into their day to day work. The resources available cover a broad range of useful information around safeguarding, including:
- What safeguarding means to your organisation
- Tools and resources to doing safeguarding well
- Local and national support networks available
- What to do if you have a cause for concern
Building on our existing safeguarding support, VAL will be funded until March 2022 to deliver work to support third sector organisations and small groups, with a particular focus on volunteer-led, BAME and new migrant communities, in using the new safeguarding resources available.
Our work over the next two years will include peer-to-peer support, signposting and engaging with communities on issues surrounding safeguarding as well as delivering a new programme of training to help small groups.
