AVSED to hold socially distanced VE Day street celebrations

Join AVSED for a socially distanced street celebration on Friday 8th May at 11am on your doorstep.

AVSED is one of 37 Neighbourhood Network Schemes in Leeds, offering support to vulnerable people in Yeadon, Guiseley and Rawdon during the Covid-19 pandemic.

On Friday 8 May they will be celebrating VE Day in their local community by arranging a socially distanced street party.

For those in the area, AVSED are inviting you to decorate your home and yourself with red, white and blue and come to your front door ready for 11am. Join the nation in a 2 minutes silence and then toast the nation in thanks to all those who fought in WW2 and remember those we lost.

Raise a glass with neighbours and share your appreciation to our heroes past and present.

Join AVSED in singing We'll Meet Again by Vera Lynn after the silence.

Volunteers will be on many streets to lead the song and help you celebrate.

Call the office for more information or to let AVSED know you are participating or need help to participate 0113 2501702
