Wrigleys Charities Webinar Series: The R words – Response, Recovery and Resilience - series of free webinars throughout July.

Charities and social sector organisations will play a vital role in seeing society through the pandemic and its consequences. However, Covid-19 will have huge and long lasting effects for those organisations, just at a time when demand for many of their services are likely to rise significantly.

We are pleased to announce that the Wrigleys charities and social economy team is delivering a series of webinars in July which will look at restructuring options for these organisations, to put them in the best place  possible to help society through the crisis. The webinars are also aimed at stakeholders of these organisations, such as funders and partners, so that they can understand how best to support these organisations through a restructuring process.

The webinars will cover a variety of types of restructuring options to consider, including the way that an organisation is funded (whether by way of social investment, or otherwise). For that webinar, we are delighted to be joined by Hazel Peck from Big Society Capital and Guy's and St. Thomas' Charity.

Restructuring social investments and other sources of funding

with guest speaker: Hazel Peck from Big Society Capital and Guy's and St. Thomas' Charity.

Renegotiating the terms on which your organisation is funded can, at times, feel a bit like walking a tight rope. We will look at the duties of directors and trustees of organisations at times of financial uncertainty. We will also provide pointers, hints and tips (including lessons learnt from the 2008/09 financial crisis) for both organisations and their funders, to enable them to best navigate a restructuring of their funding arrangements.

Mergers and collaborative working

Merging doesn’t have to be a rescue remedy of last resort. Instead, it can form part of your organisation’s strategy. We will cover the factors to consider when looking at a merger, as well as exploring other ways of more formal collaboration where a merger may not be possible. In an environment where funding is even tighter and demand for your organisation’s services is at its highest, now may be the time to put the possibility of merger and formal collaboration back on the agenda.
