Everyday Activism New Local Campaigns Training

When 4 June to Tuesday 5 June, 2018
Provided by Campaign Bootcamp
Description

Everyday Activism is a new local programme that supports people to learn how to campaign on issues that matter to them.
We often face problems in our lives that feel beyond our ability to change. Benefits cuts. Unstable or underpaid work. Discrimination or abuse because of what we look like or where we are from.
It doesn’t have to be this way. Working together, we can turn the things that frustrate us into campaigns that make society more fair for everyone.
Everyday Activism is a free of charge, Yorkshire-based training programme designed to support you to develop the skills, community and confidence you need to start campaigning and make real change.

Through face to face sessions, you’ll learn how to set goals, find your target, plan a strategy. You can have a go at starting a petition, organising a creative demonstration or talking to the media.
You’ll learn how to get people to listen to you.
To be part of Everyday Activism you need a group of people who share your experiences and concerns and are ready to act together to improve life for your community. Time and location of sessions are flexible.
