Over 3 hours we explore the nature of public speaking and how to identify what type of public speaker everyone is. We cover a practical session in how to manage nerves and the keys to essential preparation to make any speech a success. The group will then learn how humans behave as tribes and how we can use that tribal nature to change attitudes and opinions.

Description

This course as aimed at organisations that work with volunteers or are planning to work with and manage volunteers. It will look at some of the support you will need to put in place for volunteers and will specifically look at areas around providing supervision to your volunteers. It will also look at areas of best practice and help you to incorporate them into your practice. On the course you will explore feedback from more than 700 volunteers from Leeds City Region on what they said when asked what motivated them to volunteer, what type of support they most value and what are some of the barriers into volunteering.

Pricing up Bids (this session is part of a series of workshops on commissioning starting with “Introduction to Commissioning”, and “Bidding for Contracts”.)

This course runs until 3pm but the last hour is for any queries or questions you may need answering.

Leeds City Council, NHS CCGs and other public sector bodies are keen to contract with third sector organisations to provide services through the commissioning process which involves the assessment of a community’s needs and buying in organisations to provide services to meet these needs.  This session run by WYCAS is a follow up session to Commissioning – Bidding for Contracts delivered by VAL which supports third sector groups to complete tenders.  

It will focus on producing a budget for your project/service and help you to complete the financial requirements of a tender and demonstrate your financial capacity and controls.

ONLY AVAILABLE TO LEEDS BASED GROUPS AND LEEDS BASED 3RD SECTOR ORGANISATIONS.
