Training at VAL
30 June 2020
Voluntary Action Leeds (VAL) promotes training relevant for third sector organisations across Leeds provided by third party organisations, which can be found in the All Training courses tab to your right. VAL also offers its own training for those in the third sector, which you can find out more about below.
About VAL Training
During the coronavirus pandemic, Voluntary Action Leeds has suspended its face to face training offer until further notice; however as part of their commitment to deliver good quality, accessible training to the third sector in Leeds - they have launched a range of online training sessions.
The online training sessions will be led by experienced trainers and live training sessions via Zoom, as well as one-to-one interactive training courses that can be accessed at any time, will now be available.
Live Online Zoom Training
Stephen Dowson, a regular VAL associate who has a wealth of training experience and is able to facilitate and deliver informative and engaging sessions, will be delivering the Zoom online training sessions. The Zoom training sessions will take the attendees through a variety of subject matters, engaging the audience and opening up debate for learning. You will receive a top quality training session from the comfort of your own home or office.
All Zoom online training courses will take place 10:30 – 15:30 (with one hour lunch break at 12:30)
Online Zoom training sessions include but are not limited to Understanding Leadership, How to Campaign, Public Speaking and much more.

One-to-one Interactive Courses
We will also be providing a limited number of training sessions on-line in partnership with Neil Lee Training (a regular trainer at VAL).
The courses will give you an opportunity to keep your skills up to date and relevant in an ever changing environment. The courses are tutor led, one-to-one interactive on-line courses which you can do in your own time, at your own pace and at your own place.
Courses are fun to take part in and really easy to access. Courses generally take between 25 to 80 minutes.
All courses are delivered by expert trainers with years of experience in the field. Learners will be asked questions at the end of each unit, which they will need to answer successfully in order to complete the course (but don’t worry if you get it wrong as you can try again), after which they will receive a certificate of achievement approved by the relevant awarding bodies including CPD and Neil Lee Training Centre of Excellence.
Courses cover health and safety issues, business skills and health and social care, relevant to third sector organisations.
