Voluntary Action Leeds
Mental health and neurodiversity are deeply personal to us at Leeds Therapy Hub CIC. Every member of our team brings lived experience of mental health challenges, with many being neurodivergent or parents of neurodivergent children. We understand first-hand the barriers people face when navigating waiting lists and seeking early intervention. Our mission is to provide accessible, compassionate, and trauma-informed support before individuals reach a crisis point, equipping them with practical, everyday tools for emotional regulation and resilience.
Overview of Our Key Services & Peer Support Programmes
We offer a range of targeted therapeutic services and peer support mental health and wellbeing programmes across West Yorkshire.
The service we offer for children is:
Play & Creative Arts Therapy (Ages 5–16): Play and Creative Arts Therapy is an evidence-based approach based on the work of Virginia Axline that helps children and young people (typically aged 5–16) explore, process, and express their emotions through play and creative activities. It uses play as a natural form of communication, allowing them to share and understand their inner experiences when words are difficult.
The services we offer for adults are:
Our adult peer support mental health and wellbeing courses are designed and written by survivors of mental health. Pour courses are hands on and practical and give services users skills to me power them to manage their mental health now and in the future.
Neuro-Art Group (8-Week Adult Programme): A judgment-free, creative space using art to help adults regulate their nervous system, reduce cortisol, and combat stress or burnout.
Calm Within (8-Week Parent & Carer Support): A small-group programme designed to help parents and carers pause, set boundaries, build emotional resilience, and manage everyday challenges.
Finding Me Again (6-Week Domestic Abuse Recovery): A survivor-led, creative recovery programme combining trauma-informed practice and lived experience to help adult survivors process trauma non-verbally and rebuild self-trust.
Creative Calm (6-Week Mindfulness Art): A community group focusing on mindfulness-based art techniques to ease physical tension, calm fight-or-flight responses, and support emotional balance.
Six-Week Wellness Re-set: A holistic programme combining breathwork, body awareness, CBT-informed tools, and energy practices for adults dealing with chronic illness, grief, stress, or PTSD.
Funded & Subsidised Support Available
Thanks to funding supported by The National Lottery Community Fund (Awards for All), we are pleased to offer free and subsidised sessions. This funding is specifically available for individuals and families in severe financial need who meet our eligibility criteria, ensuring that financial constraints do not stand in the way of receiving vital mental health and wellbeing support.
We are keen to connect, link, and work together with organisations, community groups, and local services so we can help as many people as possible on their mental health and healing journeys.
If you would be open to a brief chat or phone call to discuss how our services might complement the work you do, please contact [email protected].
