More third sector training
To help people access training which is relevant to their work in the third sector, we also share training sessions that are available from a variety of other providers across the city.
Providers can submit relevant courses via their Doing Good Leeds account to appear in our training search when filtered to ‘Show Non-Val Training Courses’.
Although we’re happy to list these trainings, we can’t vouch for their content – please bear in mind that the quality of training is the responsibility of the providers.
Cancellations and Refunds
If you cannot attend a training session or course that you’re booked onto, please let us know as soon as possible by emailing email@example.com – even if it’s free course.
Find out more about VAL’s cancellation and refunds policy for full details.
If you’d like to be able to attend or send an employee or volunteer on one of VAL’s training courses but have an annual income of less than £20,000 per year, you may be eligible for a training bursary.
Find out more about available training bursaries and how to apply by following the link below.

One-to-one Interactive Courses
Also provided are a limited number of online training sessions in partnership with Neil Lee Training (a regular trainer at VAL).
The courses will give you an opportunity to keep your skills up to date and relevant in an ever changing environment. The courses are tutor led, one-to-one interactive online courses which you can do in your own time, at your own pace and at your own place.
Courses are fun to take part in and really easy to access. They generally take between 25 to 80 minutes.
All courses are delivered by expert trainers with years of experience in the field. Learners will be asked questions at the end of each unit, which they will need to answer successfully in order to complete the course (but don’t worry if you get it wrong as you can try again), after which they will receive a certificate of achievement approved by the relevant awarding bodies including CPD and Neil Lee Training Centre of Excellence.
Courses cover health and safety issues, business skills and health and social care, relevant to third sector organisations.
