TIME BOOST: because talking isn’t one-size-fits-all.
Time for Young People are changing how we do our open access emotional health drop-ins slightly, to make us even more child led.
TIME BOOST gives young people at our drop-ins the chance to choose the activity for their mental health conversation:
🏓 Move: Get active with games like ping pong, pool or table football to help release energy, reduce stress and make talking feel easier.
🎨 Create: Use art while talking about thoughts and feelings, with creativity helping to express things that can sometimes be hard to put into words.
🎲 Play: Enjoy a board game while chatting, making it easier to open up in a relaxed, friendly, and pressure free way.
🌈 Chill: Spend time in the sensory corner while talking, using calming activities to help you feel comfortable and ready to share at your own pace.
💬 Talk: Have friendly conversation with someone who will listen, support you and help you make sense of your feelings.
Talking remains the focus, but the activity becomes the vehicle for the conversation, helping you feel more comfortable, relaxed and able to open up.
Young people can choose one or choose a few.
🍫 Drinks and snacks provided.
