Volunteers of Leeds – Celebrating Diversity in Volunteering

Added: 09/05/2024

Voluntary Action Leeds (VAL) and artist and painters, Polly Chilcott and Farhad Abdulla, have joined forces to celebrate volunteers in Leeds. This project is inspired by the remarkable but often overlooked contribution from volunteers within our diverse communities. Polly and Farhad have created a series of original artworks which showcase the different ways that volunteers transform our city.

We would like to invite you to the launch of this exciting exhibition, held in partnership with Leeds City Museum.  Whether you are an organisation that welcomes volunteers or a volunteer yourself or someone considering volunteering, we would love to see you there.

We have planned the event to take place during Volunteers Week, so please take the opportunity to come along with your volunteers and join us to celebrate the difference people are making in Leeds.

Date: Wednesday 5th June

Viewings will be available at 1pm, 2pm and 3pm, however entry times are flexible so feel free to pop along.  You can reserve several tickets should you like to attend with staff and groups of volunteers.

Accessibility: There is a ramp leading up to the main entrance of the museum, and an entrance to the Lower Ground floor via the cafe. The front doors are automatic/push button. The museum is over five floors with lift access to all floors.

Location: Leeds City Museum, Millennium Square, Leeds LS2 8BH
