Have you supported your teenage adolescent (10-24years) through a time of poor mental health and into recovery? Would you be willing to share your experiences? Your story can help psychologists to understand the powerful role parents/caregivers play in their adolescent’s mental health recovery.
I am a third year Psychology student at the University of Leeds, currently completing my undergraduate dissertation. My research explores the role parents and caregivers play in supporting adolescents’ mental health recovery, and I am keen to hear directly from those with lived experience.
Looking for participants who:
- Have experience caring for their adolescent child (10-24 years) throughout a period of poor mental health to full recovery (formal diagnosis not required)
- Are not currently diagnosed with a mental health condition
- Are not currently accessing NHS services for a mental health condition
- Are fluent in English and able to take part in a detailed interview
- Feel content to undertake the interview and discuss past experiences caring for their adolescent child throughout a period of poor mental health
- Are not members of staff employed by the University of Leeds School of Psychology
What does participation involve?
- Taking part in one confidential interview
- The interview will last approximately 40-60 minutes.
- It can be conducted online via Microsoft Teams or in person on the University of Leeds campus, depending on your preference
- You will be speaking directly with me in a supportive, respectful environment
