COP 26 Legacy Fund grants of £2,000 to £10,000 (North East and Yorkshire)

Added: 26/01/2022

Voluntary Action Leeds

The North East and Yorkshire Energy Hub are looking to fund projects with grants of between £2,000 – £10,000 targeted at initiatives that will result in carbon reduction.

Grants are available to a range of organisations within the North East and Yorkshire Hub geography which include community groups, registered charities, Town and Parish Councils, Schools and Colleges.

The funding should be targeted at a project that leads to carbon reduction and must show a clear link to one of the following COP26 themes:

  • Energy (renewable energy schemes, energy efficiency measures) – such as energy efficiency projects for schools or Community Renewable Energy Schemes
  • Science and Innovation (solutions to meet climate goals, new climate action ideology) – such as incorporating climate change elements into other projects
  • Youth and Public Empowerment (reducing, reusing and recycling, repurposing waste, communal assets) – such as starting a new share or repair scheme or water saving devices for community facilities

Please note; funding cannot be used for ongoing running or core costs of an existing service.

The grant funding has several conditions (see guidance), one of which is that the project cannot be receiving funding from another organisation. There is also an expectation that projects must include some match funding and that grant funding will be used to meet an identified funding gap.

All bids must be received by 11 February 2022 and successful organisations will be notified if they have been successful by 25 February 2022. Funds must be spent by the end of March 2023.

See guidelines: COP26 Legacy Guidance and application form: COP Legacy Application Form
