Connecting Volunteer Managers and sharing good practice

The Leeds Volunteer Managers Network meets monthly to share ideas, strengthen good practice and create new networks. It’s a great opportunity for volunteer managers to connect and share peer support. The group is passionate about volunteering in Leeds and strives to find ways to make volunteering better for everyone. Sign up to the mailing list for opportunities to get involved.

The Volunteer Managers Network are always looking for volunteer managers to join the network steering group to help shape priorities and action plans. The network are particularly interested to hear from professionals who can represent the diversity of our communities.

Resources and guides – available below

Network members create and share a range of useful guides and resources to shape best practice in the city. Most notably the Volunteer Handbook that many organisations have adopted for use in their volunteer induction which is freely available to download and use.

Members also collaborated with Voluntary Action Leeds on The Leeds Quality Mark – an accreditation for organisations who manage volunteers and the Compact for Leeds Volunteering Toolkits

There is also a Trello board for volunteer managers and coordinators with many more documents available to download, which are stored and collated in a visually helpful way.

A handy booklet to use during the induction of a volunteer. It covers all the relevant best practice elements in the Leeds Volunteering Kitemark. Freely available for any organisation in Leeds to use with their volunteers.
