Added: 23/01/2024
Voluntary Action Leeds
On 16 January, Leeds City Council, working with VAL and Forum Central, delivered a bidders event to introduce interested third sector organisations to a new programme that they hope to run, providing to support to families to find work, or become more work ready.
The Council have made a bid for £1.2 million to the West Yorkshire Combined Authority under the UKSPF ‘Pillar 3’ People and Skills theme for a family based approach to support people with health issues back into work.
The bid builds on a previous programme ‘Stronger Families’. It will provide key workers to support families that are referred to the service. It will also offer specialist support from/referrals to organisations that can help with things like skills or volunteering that will enable people to become more work ready.
What is the opportunity
The Council are seeking organisations (or groups of organisations) to bid for 3 lots to provide both key worker services and 1 lot for specialist volunteering support. Successful organisations will work closely with Council teams who will also be involved in the programme.
The tender for services will be launched on 29 January and the Council will know if its bid has been successful in mid February.
The Dynamic Purchasing System
In order to bid organisations must be registered on the Council’s Dynamic Purchasing System under themes 2 and 6 (and 11 if they think they think they may bid for other UKSPF opportunities). Organisations should do this as soon as possible.
