Volunteers of Leeds – Celebrating Diversity

Added: 24/01/2024

We are excited to announce that Volunteers of Leeds 2024 will be focus on celebrating volunteers from diverse backgrounds.  We understand that people from diverse groups often engage with volunteering in an informal way, many people wouldn’t even consider themselves to be volunteers, just people who ‘help out sometimes’.  We think it’s about time we celebrated these people!

Do you know of someone that does a lot for their local community, faith group or organisations?  Would they be happy to be part of an art exhibition taking place at Leeds City Museum?

We are now taking nominations of volunteers from diverse communities to be part of an exhibition that launches on the 5th of June.  Nominees will either be captured on an oil painting, videoed talking about how their faith links to their volunteering or featuring in a creative media that brings a collections of volunteers together.  We are working with a talented artist from Leeds Arts University and drawing on the help of many other creative students to curate a collection of art that will be displayed in Leeds City Museum.

If you think that the person you’d like to nominate would be happy to take part in this celebration then please read the attached Project Brief and complete the Volunteers of Leeds nomination form.

Submission deadline – 17:00 on Thurs 29th February.

Please return your completed nomination form to Andrina.Dawson@val.org.uk
