GiveBradford are delighted to work with Bradford 2025 to launch the Creative Communities Fund. This programme will support Community Organisations to engage local people of all ages in creative and cultural activity as part of the UK City of Culture. Proposed activities should be led by Community Organisations, promoting and celebrating the diversity and richness of Bradford’s culture.

Key information

• Grants of between £500 and £15,000 available, to be spent over an 18-month period. Please read our FAQs for more detailed information
• Applicant Organisations must be based in Bradford or nearby localities (e.g. Kirklees) and demonstrate a good track-record of working with communities in Bradford
• Applicants must have income under £550,000 in the most recent financial year
• Partnership-working is welcome, including work with experienced creative facilitators/local arts organisations
• Only one application per organisation can be considered
• We encourage applications from all communities, particularly from under-served and/or under-represented ones.

Examples of activity that can be funded

These are examples only and we look forward to hearing your ideas:

• A Community Centre works with spoken-word facilitators to deliver creative-writing and poetry workshops, leading to a series of multilingual events
• A Youth Organisation offers a series of ‘taster’ workshops led by experienced facilitators in a variety of creative activity. The young participants then choose to write, produce, and perform in short films that reflect their experience of diversity in Bradford
• Allowing local people to define what culture means to them through a range of creative activities, (e.g. activity centred on food, music, dance, fashion, etc)
