What does trauma-informed mean?
Basically this involves a shift in perspective, it’s a way of being and seeing the world through the experiences and eyes of others and considering “What’s happened to you?” instead of “What’s wrong with you?” when challenges arise in the workplace and beyond.
Becoming trauma-informed is a journney and involves recognising that many employees carry the impact of difficult life experiences into the workplace. This approach isn’t about treating trauma, but rather creating workplace environments where everyone can thrive.
If you knew someone’s story, would you treat them differently? Check out this video here for a brief insight into what becoming trauma-informed in workplace practices means.
