Temple Newsam Estate – proposed road access changes consultation – Leeds City Council
Added: 08/07/2025
Leeds City Council
Over recent years, Temple Newsam estate has experienced a significant increase in unauthorised access, anti-social driving, and other illegal activities, particularly during night-time hours. These activities have not only caused substantial damage to the park’s grounds, Temple Newsam House and adjacent farm building but have also impacted the nearby community, raising safety concerns among local residents and park visitors. The costs to repair such damage is significant and therefore to provide a long-term solution, Leeds City Council are exploring the closure of the private road within the estate, known locally as Elm Tree Walk. The survey will close mid September 2025.
