Prevent - Leeds City Council
Leeds Prevent have a developed a new briefing session for community groups and service users.
This was put together to build knowledge around Prevent. It is for those with no or little knowledge of Prevent and would like to find out more. It provides an overview of what Prevent is and who we are.
Prevent is the Government’s strategy to stop people from becoming terrorists or supporting terrorism. Prevent is about safeguarding individuals susceptible to radicalisation through early intervention work in the same way we help people at risk of involvement with drugs, gangs or other forms of harm or abuse.
The briefing covers:
- Understanding of what Prevent is and who we are
- Key definitions explained
- Why Prevent matters
- Role of a Prevent Community Engagement Officer
- Myth Busting
- How to report concerns and explain the Leeds Prevent offer
We can deliver this to community groups and service users and can be delivered face to face or virtually. These briefings are 30-45mins long.
