The Old Fire Station are looking for Trustees to join their board….could this be you?

As we approach our 10‑year anniversary, The Old Fire Station is entering an exciting new phase. With growing demand for our support and bold ambitions for the future, we are seeking three new trustees to join our board. This is a unique chance to help shape the strategic direction of a thriving, inclusive community asset rooted in East Leeds.

About the Role

As a trustee, you will:

• Help set the strategic vision and direction of The Old Fire Station
• Ensure strong governance, financial sustainability and accountability
• Support and challenge the staff team with insight, empathy and rigour
• Act as an ambassador, helping us build partnerships and increase impact
• Champion equity, inclusion and community voice in everything we do

You’ll work alongside a committed and supportive board and staff team at a pivotal time in our development.

Who We’re Looking For

You don’t need prior board experience, just a commitment to our mission and a willingness to learn.

We would welcome trustees with experience or interest in:

• Finance or accounts
• Communications and design
• Fundraising and bid writing
• Organisational development, people, change or culture
• Digital transformation
• Strong local networks in East Leeds
• Lived experience of the communities we serve
• A passion for social justice, community development or philanthropy.

We are especially keen to hear from people who reflect the diversity of our communities and can bring new perspectives and are specifically seeking to recruit a treasurer.
