Pudsey dealership First4car hits the road in £750 ‘Banger’ for Pyrenees charity challenge

Independent used car dealership First4car, based in Pudsey, has announced it will join a fearless fleet of drivers for the annual Bangers4Ben 2026 challenge.
Setting off on Friday 2 October 2026, the team will navigate a gruelling 1,500-mile round trip over five days. The journey spans from the Portsmouth ferry terminal through historic motorsport sites like Le Mans and Bordeaux, before scaling the legendary, sweeping alpine climbs of the Pyrenees mountains.
The catch? Strict event rules dictate that the vehicle must cost no more than £750. This marks the third year that First4car is participating in the event to raise essential funding for Ben, the dedicated occupational charity providing life-changing mental health, physical health, and financial wellbeing support to workers and families in the automotive trade.
Sally Leeming at First4car, said:
“We are incredibly proud to back the motor trade’s own charity once again. Ben does vital work behind the scenes helping colleagues across the country through incredibly tough times. Doing a 1,500-mile trek in a budget banger is always unpredictable, but the teamwork, the fancy dress, and the chance to give back make every breakdown worth it. We hope our local community in West Leeds gets behind us.”
Members of the public and local businesses can follow the team’s live breakdown logs and travel updates on social media, or donate directly via First4car’s fundraising page at https://giving.ben.org.uk/pf/first4car–com. Over £2500 raised by the dealership so far. Upon returning to the UK, the vehicle will be auctioned off with 100% of the proceeds donated directly to Ben.
