Voluntary Action Leeds (VAL) offers independent evaluation and research support to the third sector, and to wider partner organisations. This ranges from advice and guidance, to research collaborations, to full evaluations of services or organisations.
VAL has worked with NHS England, local authorities and third sector organisation from across Yorkshire and beyond.

Our recent projects
 This report details the key successes and learning from thr third and final year of the neighbourhood matching project in Leeds. Neighbourhood matching is a programme of volunteer led Social Action projects, co-designed and delivered by communities, where the commitment of volunteers is matched by funding that enables projects to grow.  This report highlights the key findings and learning from Phase 2 of the Leeds Community Anchor Network Listening Exercise funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF). Unlike the LCAN Lottery listening exercise, UKSPF involved anchors from the six priority wards of Leeds, building on common themes from communities in the most deprived areas of the city.  This report is an independent evaluation of the Afrikindness Neurodiversity Community Programme (ANCP), a project delivered by Leeds-based children’s charity Afrikindness. Afrikindness is a research-driven organisation formed in 2021 that aims to support and empower children, young people and families, fostering positive racial identity development and promote kindness in children and young people.
