Today has been a landmark event for Leeds, as the first covid-19 vaccines have been delivered in our city.

You can read the full Leeds first vaccine announcement message from Dr Phil Wood, (Chief Medical Officer, Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust SRO, Vaccine Programme, West Yorkshire and Harrogate Health and Care Partnership) and Sam Prince, (Chief Operating Officer, Leeds Community Health Trust and SRO for the Leeds Vaccination Programme).

In their letter, they highlight that all the work involved in bringing this moment together is a tremendous achievement and another example of #TeamLeeds working together in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The focus of the roll-out plan for the city is mentioned and more information about the vaccine and roll-out plans will be shared over the coming days and weeks.

Voluntary Action Leeds would like to add a huge well done and congratulations to Leeds Teaching Hospitals and all those involved with helping to ensure Leeds is ready to play its part in delivering the biggest immunisation programme in the history of the NHS – we are extremely grateful.
