Creative Art Competition Launched in West Yorkshire

We would like to make you aware of a creative art competition launching today (Monday 1st November) for young people aged 25 and under in West Yorkshire.
The VRU and Royal Armouries are working in partnership to develop and produce a portable display to raise awareness and promote the work of the VRU and Operation Jemlock which exist to reduce instances of youth violence through prevention and intervention and enforcement.
Three entries will be chosen to feature within the exhibition at the Royal Armouries from January 2022, and the overall winner of the competition will receive a £100 online shopping voucher and a gift hamper from the museum shop. The entries in second and third place will receive a £50 online shopping voucher each.
We would like young people to be creative around any of the following topics:
– Young people’s thoughts, feelings, or views on violence
– Promoting personal safety
– What makes you feel safe or unsafe in your community
We would like this to be a platform for young people to make positive points about community safety and the work which is taking place in West Yorkshire to reduce serious violence.
How to enter:
– Young person to create an entry based on any of the topics mentioned
– Complete a consent form (attached) and email a copy of your submission to vru@westyorks-ca.gov.ukby the closing date of 30th November 2021
– Winners will be announced w/c 13th December
