Third Sector Leeds wishes to express its support and solidarity with the people of Ukraine and the Ukrainian community in Leeds. This is the time to stand together, providing the human response which is so needed and giving what assistance we can to all those effected by the conflict.

As individuals we feel that the response escapes our control, we see the suffering of fellow human beings and note with concern the racism which has marked the response of some officials and media. Together we can achieve what governments cannot do, we can hold out the hand of friendship and support. We know that our members will help to make Leeds a city of sanctuary for all those who arrive here fleeing war, persecution and harm.

Ways you can help:

The Leeds Together For Ukraine appeal was launched yesterday. It will help to fund accommodation support and other forms of assistance to Ukrainians arriving in Leeds, in partnership with refugee charities and other third sector organisations. It will also be used to further develop local support systems to ensure Leeds remains a welcoming and compassionate city for all migrants in the long term.
