Common Purpose is bringing back Leeds150!
This free Legacy programme for 18-25 year olds in Leeds is running for the third time in November 2022, and will be a mix of online and in person. Applications are now open here link
The programme is free of charge and we are looking for a group of up to 100 young people from a diverse range of backgrounds to participate – some in work, some studying, some unemployed.
We have three places for you and your organisation. This could be young staff members, volunteers, board members or other young people in your network.
Leeds150 is part of the Common Purpose Global Legacy campaign and builds the social capital that young people need to impact Leeds in the years to come. On the programme the young people will tackle a societal challenge:
How do we act together to transform Leeds into a cleaner, greener place for all?
The group will research communities, investigate issues, hold difficult conversations and work up ideas. They then test, refine, and present to local senior leaders their ideas in response to the challenge.
The programme is virtual, but highly interactive with opportunities for participants to engage with peers and established leaders across Leeds and will run online on the 2nd and 3rd November (on zoom, 12pm – 4.30pm) and in person 4th November ( 9.30am – 5.30pm, + optional 1 hour celebration) 2022.
The participants will:
- develop important leadership skills
- build their networks –peer as well as senior leaders
- have a voice on an important green challenge for Leeds.

Also, experience has made taught us that it’s not enough to ‘suggest’ the programme to people, they need to be encouraged to sign-up! The feedback from the participants who’ve been involved so far has been brilliant and they also get to be part of our amazing 100,000+ international alumni network.
