Leeds City Council
Leeds City Council Employment Hub is available to support young people aged 15-24 who may experience issues with their mental health. The team can support people who are soon finishing their studies, currently unemployed or have options lined up for Sept/Oct.
Here are some worrying statistics which show that this offer is needed more than ever (2022 Prince’s Trust NatWest Youth Index Survey)
48% of young people report experiencing a mental health problem
22% think they feel will fail in life (rising to 34% of young people who are NEET)
21% of young people from poorer backgrounds think their life will amount to nothing, no matter how hard they try
1 in 4 young people think they will never recover from the pandemic
Our specialist Mental Health Employment & Skills Advisors can offer 6 months support and then for people who move into work, an additional 6 months in work support.
We can also support young people with options set up for Sept/Oct but who are currently struggling with their mental health which may put these options in jeopardy. Also young people who start courses and quickly realise their chosen course is not for them and want to change course or institution.
