Next week we welcome The Groundswell Project to Seacroft to facilitate the Communities Countering Hate workshop.

The aim of this workshop is to build understanding, empathy and resilience so that participants are better equipped to notice hateful narratives and to be in a better position to safeguard their schools, families and communities.

Communities Countering Hate is a special workshop that is based on the real life testimonies of two individuals from very different backgrounds and how they found themselves involved in extremism and hateful ideologies. Hadiya and Ivan were once involved in Islamist and Far-Right extremist groups in the UK and had spent years strongly believing in the narratives of these ideologies. They had different reasons as to why they became radicalised but their journeys are not so unique and still reflect the ways that people are being radicalised today.

There will be two opportunities to attend the session –

Wednesday 18 January – 1pm -3pm @ Kentmere Community Centre

Thursday 19 January – 10am – 12pm @ Chapel FM –
