Latest Healthy Eating Toolkit launches to support Healthy Holidays Easter provision

FoodWise Leeds has released their latest Healthy Eating Toolkit to support Healthy Holidays Leeds providers in planning their Easter provision. This toolkit includes ideas for healthy eating messages and activities, as well as sharing related information with families.

About Healthy Holidays Plus & Healthy Holidays Leeds:

In collaboration with key partners, FoodWise Leeds coordinates the Healthy Holidays Plus programme to support Leeds providers to embed healthy eating messages and activities across all future Healthy Holidays provision. This toolkit release follows the previous successful iterations during 2022. All releases have been coproduced with a range of collaborators including local third sector organisations, schools, community hubs, key food providers, Leeds City Council and Leeds Community Foundation.

Healthy Holidays provides free engaging and enriching activities with a healthy, generally hot, meal for children and young people during the Easter, summer and Christmas holidays. The scheme is available for primary and secondary school aged children and young people, principally those in receipt of free school meals. It is an inclusive programme and provision is accessible for children and young people who have Special Education Needs or Disabilities. Schools, community hubs and voluntary groups offer wide-ranging provision that can include, food growing, sports, swimming, outdoor pursuits, dance, arts and crafts, as well as visits to attractions.
