Serious Violence Duty Consultation
Added: 22/08/2023
Leeds City Council
The new Serious Violence duty requires the council as part of the West Yorkshire partnership to undertake consultation to understand the community’s perception of the causes of violence and the effect it has in the Leeds area, and what residents feel should be done locally to prevent and tackle violence. These insights will help ensure that the needs and voices of the community are able to inform and shape future delivery and strategy.
Definition of Violence
“Violence and serious violence includes specific crime types where there is the use of physical force or power, threatened or actual, against oneself, another person, or against a group or community”.
