Climate Action Leeds – hubs of activity

Added: 11/03/2024

Climate Action Leeds

Now in its fourth year, the Climate Action Leeds (CAL) partnership continues to promote, support, and deliver engagement with environmental issues.

One crucial part of CAL is the community hubs spread across the city, where staff and volunteers work on initiatives to benefit their area and the people living in it.

The first four hubs were founded in Beeston, Garforth, Otley, and Seacroft, while the second set sprung up in Alwoodley, Armley, Horsforth, and Little London.

Between them, they’ve delivered a shedload of events, opportunities, and awareness-raising for their communities. From showing how it’s possible to grow good food locally, to creating connections for marginalised groups through climate-linked artwork, the hubs have brought hundreds of people together all across the city.

The CAL website features snapshots of the hubs’ efforts, such as this one from Garforth and this one from Horsforth. Equally, you can get a sense of the Horsforth hub with their video.

If you want to know what’s happening at a hub near you, find details via this page. You may just want to attend an event, but you might have the skills your local hub needs in its new volunteer!
