  1. Warehouse Volunteer: Keeping Things Moving

As part of the warehouse team, our warehouse volunteers are essential in making sure orders from Oxfam’s Online Shop and eBay get to customers quickly and efficiently. This role includes picking, packing, and shipping products, ensuring that Oxfam’s customers receive the best possible service.

  1. Garment Upcycling & Repair Volunteer: Giving Donations New Life

Our garment volunteers help make the most out of clothing and homeware donations. This role involves hanging and steaming garments, identifying any damaged items, and using needlepoint skills to carry out basic repairs or upcycling into new items. It’s a great opportunity to give new life to second-hand treasures!

  1. Photography Volunteer: Showcasing Our Best Donations

If you’ve got a knack for photography, we want you! Photographers for Oxfam Batley Hub, are responsible for capturing high-quality images of our donations, from clothing and accessories to books and homeware. These photos help promote items for sale on the Oxfam Online Shop and eBay, raising vital funds for the charity’s mission.

  1. Online Lister: Creating Exciting Listings

Our volunteer online listers are wordsmiths. They help to craft engaging and accurate product descriptions for our online listings. From measuring garments to researching items and creating appealing descriptions, this role is vital for ensuring that Oxfam’s online presence remains professional and enticing.

Festival Warehouse Volunteers assist with planning, auditing stock, and preparing props for festivals all over the country. It’s a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in gaining hands-on experience in logistics and warehouse management and working behind the scenes at festivals.

Festivals and Events Volunteers help us prepare for next year’s festivals by making or repairing props, recycling and upcycling donated goods, or even producing mood boards for festival themes.

Festival stewards are the heart of Oxfam’s festival presence. Steward volunteers support Oxfam at some of the UK’s biggest festivals, helping with everything from checking wristbands to providing directions and ensuring the safety of festival-goers. We provide full training and support, so no prior experience is required. Plus, the Hub is open weekdays from 9 am to 4 pm, meaning no weekend or evening shifts. You can volunteer on a regular or ad-hoc basis, depending on your schedule. We even offer local travel expenses, free parking, and refreshments for volunteers who are with us for more than four hours.
