Young People and Active Travel Workshop – University of Leeds
University of Leeds
Join us for an afternoon working together to consider how to promote active travel with young people through participatory activities.
All with an interest in either young people’s perspectives, or active and sustainable travel are welcome, however it may be of particular interest to:
- Teachers, teaching assistants, extra-curricula activity organisers and schools who want to reduce car use and congestion around their campus.
- People working with charities or organisations promoting healthy lifestyles and
- Local authorities and people involved in travel plans and strategies that want to ensure young people’s perspectives are heard in the process
- People working in voluntary sectors, like youth clubs and uniformed organisations, that are interested in developing their skills in promoting young people’s participation in decision making
- People who have engaged in participatory work with young people, or are already promoting active travel, and want to share their experiences.
You can join us for this event in person at Cloth Hall Court (near Leeds train station) or online.
The event is on 7th April 2025 at 1pm, starting with a light lunch (for those joining in person). We’ll then introduce our toolkit and our experiences, before having other representatives from local organisations share their experiences of participatory approaches and active travel. The event will end with time for refreshments and networking, finishing at 5pm.
This is a free event, however booking is essential.
