Addressing Mental Health Inequalities in Minority Ethnic Groups – Grants and Briefing Session
Voluntary Action Leeds
Grants of £5,000 to £20,000 over 2 years (with the possibility of an extension for a third year) for local Leeds third sector social enterprises, community groups and charities that are supporting local people from minority ethnic groups with their mental health (as part of broader programme to reduce inequalities).
Some of the key areas LCF are interested in funding are:
- Building capacity of grassroots organisations to work in a ‘psychologically informed’ way (i.e. to take the psychological and emotional needs of people into account)
- Increasing awareness of mental health services and supporting people to overcome barriers – including reducing stigma and increasing trust
- Offering a safe, trusting space for people to ask for help and get support for their mental health.
- Using trusted relationships to help people to access mental health support from other services/professionals if they need it.
Will fund work with families, adults and children.
Deadline: 12 noon on 20/1/21.
