Asset Based Community Development Pathfinder Grants Scheme in Leeds – open call & info.

Added: 31/01/2024

Voluntary Action Leeds

Leeds City Council is proud and excited to announce that this year we are planning to fund three new ABCD Pathfinder sites in Leeds. Since 2013, Leeds has funded the proliferation of the ABCD pathfinder model and we have witnessed the real transformational impact it has had in our communities and on the lives of so many local people.

We have identified the areas of Little London, Woodhouse, Kirkstall (Hawksworth community), Gipton and Harehills (specifically Gipton community), Bramley and Stanningley, and Moor Allerton (Cranmer Bank and Lingfield communities) as potential areas for the three new Pathfinder sites.

The model in Leeds consists of: Community Builders – paid workers hosted by Neighbourhood Organisations. Community Connectors – individuals living locally who may organise and support local activities. ‘Small Sparks’ grants – funds for groups and individuals to support local activity.
The Community Builders will work with the local community and the Community Connectors to develop an asset map. Asset mapping is a useful process that actively engages with local people to ensure people are aware of the work, and to develop an understanding of the community assets. These can be places (e.g. parks, cafes), activities (e.g. networks, community groups), or the skills
people have themselves.

The ABCD grant pack is now live on our website and can be found here: ABCD Pathfinder Grants open call | Abcd In Leeds

We would like to encourage applications from organisations who may be interested in working with us to develop and deliver one of the new Pathway sites in potentially one of the areas highlighted.  The total grant is £25k per Pathfinder, per annum for an initial period of 24 months.

For interested organisations who would like to find out more, we are hosting a webinar on 8th February at 10.30am for a Q and A session. Organisations can sign up to the webinar through our Eventbrite page: ABCD Pathfinder Open Grant Call Tickets, Thu, Feb 8, 2024 at 10:30 AM | Eventbrite. Applications close on 22nd February at 12 noon.
