Could you, or someone you know, support vaccine engagement activities in Harehills during February?
The Leeds Community Champion volunteers will play a vital role in supporting vaccine uptake in Harehills over the next few weeks. We need support from as many volunteers as possible – can you help?
Pop up vaccination sites are being set up in areas where uptake is lowest. Community Champions will support these by talking to people in the area, listening to their concerns and answering any questions they have. Community Champions will give reliable information, and help combat misinformation people might be worried about.
Working in pairs, volunteers will promote the vaccine clinics by engaging with the local community, offering guidance and reassurance, and directing them to the pop up site.
Help more people get vaccinated with their first, second, or booster dose by volunteering as a Community Champion.
Dates volunteers are needed:
From Monday 7 February to Friday 11 February, each week day
and
From Monday 14 February to Friday 18 February, each week day
9.30am – 4pm (or you can do a morning or afternoon depending on availability: 9.30am – 12.30pm or 12.30pm – 4pm)
We are asking for 8 volunteers per day to support this surge vaccination effort to help more people in the area feel comfortable and confident to take up the offer of the vaccine to support their health, and protect people around them.
How to volunteer
Sign up to the Community Champion Pop Up Vaccination Engagement opportunity on Be Collective or email community.champions@forumcentral.org.uk if you can come along to support the vaccination in Harehills on one or more of those dates in February.
Or get in touch if you, or someone you know, may want to volunteer to help more people get vaccinated with their first, second, or booster dose.
