The Compassionate City Awards recognise the outstanding individuals and organisations who make a difference to their communities. They highlight the unsung heroes, showcasing the best that Leeds has to offer, highlighting those who go above and beyond to help make Leeds a special place to live and work.

The awards provide a platform to showcase the work of individuals and organisations in local communities and give them the recognition they deserve. There are nine award categories:

• Jo Cox Award
• Unsung Sporting Hero of the Year
• Community Sports Project of the Year
• Fundraising Achievement of the Year
• Community Organisation or Project of the Year
• Health and Wellbeing Project of the Year
• Diversity Project of the Year
• Environmental Achievement Award
• Unsung Hero of the Year

Nominations are open until 25^th September, and anyone can submit a nomination. The awards ceremony takes place at the Civic Hall in Leeds on 25^th November.
