Covid19 Vaccine and Access for Health and Care Third Sector Employees

Forum Central
Forum Central has continued to work to ensure parity of frontline Third Sector workers for both vaccines and testing.
There was a meeting on 8 January chaired by Cath Roff (Director of Adults and Health at Leeds City Council) about vaccination of community based social care staff in which front line Third Sector health and care workers – including volunteers are being counted.
The key point is that vaccination will take place over a few weeks, starting in mid Jan, or early Feb at latest. The plan is for an open booking system to be set up by the middle of this week. The suggestion is to make all the slots available at once, not release session by session (following feedback from Forum Central and others about need to be transparent and fair)
Forum Central will be getting the message out to health and care organisations this week working with Voluntary Action Leeds and their members on this.
Employers will be asked to prioritise staff according to their individual risk assessment but is likely to be by:
- Clinically Extremely Vulnerable
- Clinically Vulnerable
- 60+
- People of Black, Asian /Minority Ethnic heritage
More information will be circulated as soon as it is available.
