Days Out or a speaker for your group

Settle Carlisle Railway Trust
Settle Carlisle Railway celebrates its 150th Anniversary next year and we want as many people as possible to celebrate with us.
We are so much more than just a railway! We have amazing days out up and down the line with something for everyone from guided walks, talks and theatre pieces, history and experiences in our signal boxes, cakes and bakes in our tearooms, the list is almost endless.
We can organise full days out for groups from Leeds including help with your travel, an ‘on train guide’ who will tell you all about the line, the scenery you are passing and answer any questions, events and activities for the group such as a heritage or botany talk or fossil hunt at Ribblehead, a signal box experience at Armathwaite or Settle, a meeting place and input for a special interest group like art, music (why not come and play our Lithophone at Horton!) or a book club or tailored rail safety and education sessions for schools or uniform groups to help achieve your badges. Whatever your group is interested in we will be able to deliver a fabulous day out.
We are a charity and can also sometimes access funding to help cover costs for group visits so please do reach out and have a chat if cost would be an issue for your group.
Finally if travelling on the line is not for you, why not invite us over to give a talk or presentation. We have lots of interesting aspects to the line that we can cover and it’s always good fun.
