FACTS – A message for Leeds about COVID

Added: 19/10/2020

Third Sector Leeds

Third Sector Leeds is asking for your support to get the distinctive message of the sector out to the people you are in contact with on a daily basis.

The third sector in Leeds has, along with all others, been going through a period of intense activity. We see the direct results of covid every day, in the impact on physical and mental health, the social and economic impacts, all effecting aspects of our everyday lives.

Third sector organisations have been at the forefront of efforts to contain and deal with the consequences of covid for the past six months. We are really aware that we are now in a second wave, and may be on the cusp of lockdown – this is our clear message of helping people to help themselves, and help others.

This is our “Call for Action”, a distinctive message, from the third sector:
  • Face coverings in enclosed spaces
  • Ask friends & neighbours if they need help, or a catch – keeping to you area’s rules
  • Clean your hands and surfaces you touch
  • Two-metre distancing & avoid crowded places
  • Self-isolate & get a test if you have symptoms

We are asking everyone to remember the FACTS and help share the message widely using these resources:

Overall, if we can reduce our number of contacts, it will benefit everyone. But it is also what we can do for each other that will help us get through this. It’s the decisions we all make in our lives which in the end will affect those who live around us.

There are other activities the third sector is taking to support communities, including the Leeds Community Care Volunteer Programme, Community Support Hubs, and the Third Sector Outbreak Plan.
