FREE training in water literacy

Added: 24/06/2025

Now that Yorkshire is officially declared to be in drought conditions, after the driest spring for 132 years, I thought it would be a good time to let you know that my team are able to offer FREE training in Water Literacy.

Water Literacy is a new learning experience, to inspire, motivate and educate professionals to play their part in addressing the environmental impact of water scarcity in the UK. Through a day of learning, or two half days, participants are empowered to embed change at their organisations, at home, and in their communities.

How will the programme be delivered?

  • It’s fully funded for the first 2,000 learners
  • Online and in-person sessions are created by water industry experts and delivered by experienced Groundwork staff
  • Modules are driven by scientific research
  • Multi-media tools and resources enrich the learning journey

All participants have the opportunity to become accredited after successful completion of the course.

The course requires approx. 7 hours of learning, which can be delivered online or in-person. It can also be delivered in a single day or split over 2 sessions. All course content will be provided, along with an additional information pack that can be sent to leaners at the end of the course.

We are looking for groups, organisations and individuals to deliver the course to, within the Yorkshire area. If you know of anyone who might be interested, please could you let us know, so we can contact them to give them the full details about the course.

I have attached some more information about what Water Literacy entails and a flyer for the programme. Please feel free to share within your organisation and across your networks. We’ve dates up to the end of November when it is anticipated free spaces will finish.

Please email any questions to course leaders Ian Johnson ian.johnson@groundwork.org.uk  or Luke Humphrys luke.humphrys@groundwork.org.uk

Get in there quick if you are interested and please help us by spreading the word.
