There’s still time to get your free vaccinations and protect yourself this winter

Winter viruses such as flu, Covid‑19 and RSV continue to circulate, and can cause serious illness – but there’s still time to get protected. Visit the NHS website to check eligibility and book your free vaccine now.

Those eligible for the free flu vaccination include people are:

  • aged 65 and over
  • living with a weakened immune system or a long‑term health condition
  • carers, or living with someone who has a weakened immune system
  • pregnant
  • children aged 2 or 3-years-old

Those eligible for the free Covid-19 vaccination include people who are:

  • aged 75 or over
  • living with a weakened immune system
  • residents in care homes for older adults

Vaccinations against respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) are also available for pregnant women (from 28 weeks onwards) and adults aged 75 to 79.

Community pharmacies are this winter offering flu vaccinations to children aged 2 and 3 years old. For this age group, the flu vaccine is usually given as a quick and painless nasal spray.

The injectable flu vaccine does not contain porcine (pork) derived product and is offered to adults. The nasal spray vaccine offered to children does contain porcine derived product, although an injectable vaccine can be offered as an alternative.

Check your eligibility and book your vaccination through your GP, local pharmacy, the NHS App, or online: nhs.uk/wintervaccinations
