The trustees of the Headingley Orphanage Foundation meet next to consider applications for grants in late September 2023.
Grants are available only to organisations with charitable objects “serving the benefit of needy children and young persons under the age of 21 years living in Yorkshire”. Grants up to £1000 will be considered.
Headingley Orphanage Homes were first opened in 1859 and continued in operation for exactly 100 years. In 1959 the services they provided were assumed by the Local Authority and other national charities. Following their closure, the Headingley Orphanage Foundation
was set up to administer funds arising from the sale.
