The last 19 months has seen the world experience monumental events – igniting periods of reflection and a need for change and action: Covid-19, the murder of George Floyd and Black Lives Matter.  

As the founder of a Black-led organisation with mixed success with applying for grants from funders, I wanted to see how other Black-led organisations fared in the funding systems in Leeds, as there is currently no data held. I was commissioned by an independent funder to undertake this work to find out – via a questionnaire and report.
