Leeds Community Foundation
Jimbo’s Fund was set up by generous local businessman, Jimi Heselden, to support people experiencing hardship in East Leeds. Jimi tragically passed away in an accident in 2010, but the fund continues to support local projects, continuing Jimi’s legacy of generosity.
This round of Jimbo’s Fund will make grants of £1,000 to £20,000 to support organisations working for the benefit of disadvantaged people in Leeds, particularly those with a focus on LS8, LS9, LS14 and LS15. Applicant organisations must be established for at least 2 years and have a track record in the local area.
Applications need to clearly demonstrate:
- They are supporting people experiencing hardship/disadvantage
- Their work is meeting an identified need in the local community
- They can deliver tangible results
Please note that Jimbo’s Fund is heavily over-subscribed for each round. Before you apply, please ensure you read the guidance carefully to ensure your application is eligible. We have limited funding available and we are not able to fund every eligible application we receive, no matter how deserving the project is.
The available grant pot for 2023 is £350,000, so we anticipate funding approximately 20 organisations. Jimbo’s prefers to be the primary funder, so applications should equal at least 50% of the total cost of the request.
