Added: 09/11/2021

Voluntary Action Leeds

Leeds Convalescent Society makes grants to organisation or individuals in Leeds to benefit sick and needy residents during convalescence. Applicants need to be residents of Leeds or organisations supporting residents in Leeds who are either poor, sick, disabled, recovering from illness or need special equipment (ie wheelchairs, baths etc).  There are 3 funds available within the Society including:

  • The Leeds Fund which makes grants benefitting children or adults in Leeds
  • The Meanwood Fund makes grants which benefit only children living in, or from, or around the Meanwood area.
  • The Halton and Whitkirk Fund makes grants which benefit either children or adults resident in the Ecclesiastical parishes of Whitkirk and Halton and/or within this neighbourhood generally.

Trustees meet in May and November to consider applications which need to be received by the end of April and October respectively. The Society is particularly keen to fund small charities, voluntary and community groups in Leeds.

For an application form and fund criteria or to make a general enquiry, contact Alison Gallant, Clerk to the Trustees, Leeds Convalescent Society by e-mail alison.gallant1962@gmail.com or telephone: 07947 636251
